VeraTails is a free directory of restaurants, cafés, bars and breweries across the US where dogs are welcome.

Where the listings come from

Every listing comes from OpenStreetMap, the free map of the world built by volunteers. When someone maps a café and tags it as dog-friendly, it appears here. Right now that's 276 places, last refreshed October 29, 2026.

What the labels mean

• Dogs welcome — dogs are allowed (OpenStreetMap dog=yes).
• Leashed dogs — dogs are welcome on a leash (dog=leashed).
• Patio only — dogs are welcome outside but not indoors (dog=outside).

Dog policies change, and local health rules differ. Treat a listing as a good lead, not a promise — check with the venue before you go. Service animals are a separate matter, covered by law rather than by venue policy.

Each place page has a “Fix it on OpenStreetMap” link. Corrections made there reach VeraTails on its next refresh. See how to add a place.
